ENTERPRISE — Downtown Enterprise welcomes classic car fans young and old for the seventh annual Main Street Car Cruise and Show and Shine.

Registration for the show begins at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at Main Street Motors in Enterprise, corner of Depot and Main streets.

At noon a cruise from Joseph to Imnaha begins at the Joseph city parking lot on the Imnaha Highway. Stay for lunch at the Imnaha Tavern.

From 5-8 p.m., everyone is invited to bring a chair and come to downtown Enterprise for food and beer vendors and music by No Boundaries in Warde Park, corner of West Main and Northwest Second streets.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, registration continues at Main Street Motors and cars will be assigned their parking spots while Enterprise Elks will serve breakfast from 7-10 a.m. out front.

Vehicles will be displayed on Main Street from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Be sure to come to the awards ceremony with emcee Brett Hayes for the announcement of Best in Show and People’s Choice at 2:30 p.m. Top winners will receive bronze statues from TW Bronze and Parks Bronze, both of Enterprise.

Doug Crow, co-owner of Main Street Motors, said he and the other organizers for the first Main Street Show and Shine started the event during a year when the Wallowa Mountain Cruise car show in Joseph was canceled.

“We are motorheads and love cars so we decided we would try and put one together that wouldn’t interfere with future Mountain Cruise shows held in June,” Crow said.

The third Saturday in August was chosen as the date, dovetailing with the Stockgrowers Rodeo just a few blocks away at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds, providing a packed weekend in Enterprise.

Crow said the car show draws people from all over the Northwest and there is an award for the car that came the farthest.
