Thanksgiving Day is traditionally about the feast, but organizations across Eastern Oregon are offering a way to get a little exercise and give back to the community before sitting down to the table.

Here’s a look at three fun run/walk events planned for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 25.

BAKER CITY

The 15th annual “Walk/Run to Feed the Hungry” Turkey Trot returns to an in-person event this year. Proceeds benefit the Northeast Oregon Compassion Center, and participants are asked to bring a donation of nonperishable food to the starting line.

The run starts at 9 a.m. in front of Kicks Sports, 1801 Main St. Entry is $15. Register on the day of the race from 7:30-8:45 a.m. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/NortheastOregonCompassionCenter.

HERMISTON

The Turkey Day 5K in Hermiston benefits the Eastern Oregon Mission. The event starts at 9 a.m. at the Oxbow Trail, off Northwest 11th Street and West Elm Avenue Extension.

Entry is $20 for adults or $10 for youth. For information, visit www.hermistonathleticclub.com. For questions, email auriana@hermistonathleticclub.com or call 541-256-2995.
