BAKER CITY, PENDLETON, JOHN DAY — If you’re looking for locally crafted items, you have a couple options left in the waning weeks of December.
The Last Chance Holiday Bazaar will be held Dec. 17 and 18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Baker City Church of the Nazarene’s Family Life Center, 1250 Hughes Lane.
In John Day, A “Last Minute Christmas Boutique” is happening Dec. 17-18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. both days at Saint Serpent Herb Farm, 27102 Ridge Road.
Several art shows focusing on gift ideas are still on exhibit in Eastern Oregon.
Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St., has “The Art of the Gift” open through Dec. 31. PCA is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday from noon-4 p.m. More information is available by calling 541-278-9201 or online at www.pendletonarts.org.
Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, 2020 Auburn Ave. in Baker City, has the annual December show “The Gift of Art” open through Dec. 24. In addition, visitors can check out the Ornament Expo, featuring locally made ornaments. Crossroads is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Fair Lights open at Wallowa County Fairgrounds
ENTERPRISE — Fair Lights at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds will open at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, featuring lighted displays. Cars enter through a gate off Medical Parkway near Les Schwab, drive around the track to view the displays, which are provided by area businesses and organizations, and exit near the indoor arena off Lyle Street. The event runs from 5-8 p.m. each night through Dec. 26. Fair Lights 2021 is free, though donations are appreciated.
BlueMountaineers plan New Year’s Eve party
LA GRANDE — The BlueMountaineers will play live on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, from 6-9 p.m. at the Union County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany St. The evening will include a finger food potluck and door prizes.
Admission is $5, or free for ages 12 and younger.
Elgin Opera House presents ‘A Christmas Carol’
ELGIN — The Elgin Opera House is presenting “A Christmas Carol” on Dec. 17-18 and Dec. 21-23. Shows are at 7:30 p.m., except for Dec. 18, which has two performances (2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.). Tickets are $18 for the orchestra level and lower balcony, and $8 for the upper balcony. Purchase tickets in advance at www.elgin-operahouse.com.
Inaugural Tinsel Trot is Dec. 18 in Baker City
BAKER CITY — The Baker County YMCA is planning the first Tinsel Trot fun run and walk on Saturday, Dec. 18 — snow, rain or shine. The event starts at 11 a.m. at Geiser Pollman Park. Same-day registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
Entry is $15 for ages 6-17, $20 for ages 18 and older, $50 for a family of four or more, and free for ages 5 and younger. Register online at www.baker-ymca.org.
Participants are encouraged to wear a favorite ugly sweater. Mine City Catering Company will be selling pulled pork sandwiches at the finish line, and Coffee Corral will provide hot chocolate and coffee.
Entertainment, holiday market planned at HQ
LA GRANDE — HQ, a live music venue in downtown La Grande, continues offering open stage time on Thursdays from 7-10 p.m.
“Sign up at the door for a 10-minute stage time slot,” said HQ co-owner Chris Jennings. “Bring your new music, writing, interpretive dance or whatever entertainment you’re presenting to HQ for Thursday nights open microphone art-based performances.”
Also on the HQ calendar for Dec. 18 is the Alternative Arts Holiday Market, a holiday spectacular from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., he said. Multiple local arts and crafts vendors will display their holiday hand-crafted gifts, and adult beverages will be available. Two actors, 22 characters in ‘A Tuna Christmas’
BAKER CITY — Eastern Oregon Regional Theatre will present “A Tuna Christmas” Dec. 17-19, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday at EORT, 2101 Main St.

The comedy features only two actors — Savannah Brown and Marie Taylor — who each portray 11 different characters. Abby Dennis is the director, and Addison Collard is assistant director.
The Grinch steals Movie Night at SAGE Center
BOARDMAN — Movie Night at the SAGE Center will help jump-start your holiday spirit by screening “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m. at 101 Olson Road. The cost is $5 per person and includes entry, popcorn and bottled water. Children younger than 5 are free. The PG-rated flick features Jim Carrey as the Grinch. Free Christmas dinner provided in Pendleton
PENDLETON — The Pendleton Community Action Coalition, Salvation Army and CAPECO will provide a free community Christmas dinner for the Pendleton and CTUIR communities on Saturday, Dec. 25, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Pendleton Salvation Army. End 2021 with a murder mystery at the Underground
PENDLETON — The Pendleton Underground will ring in the new year with a murder mystery dinner event beginning at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 at 31 SW Emigrant Ave. Tickets are limited to 55, and the event is for ages 21 and older.
