- Ginger Rembold will teach a calligraphy class on Jan. 20 and 27 at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center in Baker City.
BAKER CITY — Several scheduled classes have changed, and some have filled up, but staff at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center said interested participants should check out the new list of offerings.
“A few classes are full, but we really encourage folks to contact us to be placed on the waiting list so we can fill cancellations or update them when future classes happen,” said Katie Ash, education coordinator.
One of those classes is Portrait Painting with Brian Vegter. The seven-week course is full, but those who are interested can get their name on a waiting list. Also full is the multi-session Adult Wheel Throwing for Beginners — call to be placed on a waiting list.
Here’s a look at classes starting in January. All are held at Crossroads, 2020 Auburn Ave. To register, go to www.crossroads-arts.org or call 541-523-5369.
Exploring with Paint and Canvas
Fridays, Jan. 14-Feb. 11
10 a.m.-noon
This class, taught by Andrew Gettle, is for high school-age students. He describes it like this: “Channeling your expression is our goal. Maybe you walk away with one masterpiece, maybe you walk out with one every day. Everyone will walk out of this class with more tools and new perspectives on how to create art that is an expression of yourself. Art, like life, is about the journey and we are going to have fun!”
This is an ArtSpeak program, which is supported by donations. The class is free but enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required.
