EASTERN OREGON — Bart Budwig started touring again in April 2022, and this month he has four shows in a row around Eastern Oregon.

“I’m stoked. I haven’t done a good Eastern Oregon tour for a couple years,” he said.

Budwig grew up playing the trumpet, and started writing songs at 18.

“I’ve been writing, singing and playing ever since,” he said.

He’s been a full-time musician since 2015.

Budwig is the production manager at the OK Theatre, which reopened in May to live music once again.

“That’s been exciting,” he said.

He’s also a sound engineer, and records albums for other bands at the theatre.

As for his own music, Budwig’s current tour started in early August. His shows in Eastern Oregon kickoff Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Pendleton.

These concerts feature Budwig and a full band.

He describes their sound as “soul, folk and outlaw country.”

“That ‘60s Americana influence,” he said.
