UNITY — A traditional celebration in Unity is being revived this year with Bull Run Days, Sept. 9-11.

Proceeds from the weekend will support local emergency services, said Dan Davis, who is organizing the event with the Unity Citizens Action Council.

The three-day festival will feature a flea market, live music, food — including rattlesnake chili — and a horseshoe tournament.

Tickets are available online at EventBrite (https://tinyurl.com/s87en835) and also in Baker City at the Chamber of Commerce and Squeaky Stirrup, in Unity at the Burnt River Market and Water Hole, and in John Day at Bare Bones Bar and the Chamber of Commerce.

Baker City band Trailer Hitch will play Friday night, and Portland-based Two Secrets, featuring Chris Baron, plays Saturday night. Concert tickets are $10.

Both concerts run from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Tickets are also available for the other events, including a street taco dinner on Friday night (5-8 p.m., $10), rattlesnake chili feed on Saturday (5-8 p.m., $10) and entry in the horseshoe tournament ($40 per team).

“Anything can be purchased individually,” Davis said.

The flea market will run Friday at noon through Sunday. He said there is space for about 72 vendors — booth space varies in cost by size, from $30 to $60. These can be registered through the EventBrite site, or by sending an email to unitycitizensac@gmail.com.

The horseshoe tournament starts at 4 p.m. Friday and continues on Saturday. If needed, a championship will be held on Sunday.
