LA GRANDE — Grande Ronde Academy is inviting the community to “A Knight for a Princess” Valentine’s Ball on Friday, Feb. 10.

And, if that date sells out, another dance will be added for Saturday, Feb. 11.

This event is for girls and their dads, grandfathers, uncles, male mentors or “any adult male in their life,” said Laura Pearson, who is helping organize the event.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the school, 507 Palmer Ave. (next to Veterans Memorial Pool). And at the same time on Feb. 11, if that date is needed.

Tickets are $40 for one adult and one youth, and $15 for additional girls. Pearson said using the promo code of GoEasternOregon will take $5 off the ticket price.

Activities for the evening include a photo booth, chocolate fountain, punch and a DJ. Le Bebe Cakes staff is helping decorate.

“We’re going to make it fancy,” Pearson said.

Tickets are on sale at Eventbrite: A Knight for A Princess, https://tinyurl.com/y4kk78p3. It is optional to add a flower corsage or boutonniere by Fitzgerald Flowers for $25.

These will be delivered to the school on the night of the dance.

In need of a dress? Bugs and Butterflies has been collecting formal dresses of all sizes and girls can reserve one for free, also on the Eventbrite site.

This must be done ahead of time so the dress can be picked up before the event.

Pearson said the evening will also include dance lessons, and every male will be entered into a drawing for prizes from Hines Meat Co., Ochocos Outdoors and various restaurants.

“We have lots of sponsors in the community,” Pearson said.

Each girl will receive a gift box.

Grande Ronde Academy is a private school for grades kindergarten through 12. This year has an enrollment of 50 students.
