- Weekend at the Blues returns to Milton-Freewater July 27-30. The parade happens at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29.
MILTON-FREEWATER — Weekend at the Blues is where “the wild west meets the bands” July 27-30 in Milton-Freewater.

The weekend starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at North Main Square, 417 N. Main St., with a princess pageant and music by the Red Shoe Group along with food, games and vendors.
On Friday, July 28, the action moves to Yantis Park. Vendors and the Kiwanis beer and wine garden open at 1 p.m. The princess pageant coronation is at 4 p.m., and music starts at 5 p.m. with Colorblind.

Saturday, July 29, opens with an Ambassador’s Breakfast at 8 a.m. ($10), and vendors open at 9 a.m. at Yantis Park. The parade starts at 11 a.m. (starts at North Main and ends at Yantis Park), followed by music with Donovan Saldana (11:30 a.m.), Kyle’s Custom Toys & Towing Fireman’s Water Fight (1 p.m.), music by Backroads (2 p.m.), beer and wine garden (3 p.m.) and music by Gypsy Rose (4:30 p.m.) and Badlandz (7 p.m.).
Rodeo
The rodeo starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Pioneer Posse Grounds, followed by an after-party at 9:30 p.m. with Shanks Pony at Dragon’s Gate Brewery.
Combination tickets for the rodeo and party are $25 for ages 15 and older, $15 military/veterans, $20 for first responders and ages 6-14 and free for age 5 and younger. Tickets for the rodeo only are $18 for ages 15 and older, $10 military/veterans, $12 first responders/ages 6-14 and free for age 5 and younger. On Sunday, July 30, rodeo slack starts at 9 a.m. (free admission) and the rodeo action gets underway at 2 p.m. Advance tickets are $18 for age 15 and older, $10 military/veterans, $12 first responders, $12 for ages 6-14 and free for age 5 and younger. Tickets at the gate are $20 for 15 older, $10 military/veterans, $15 for first responders and ages 6-14, and free for 5 and younger.
