BAKER CITY — The weather may be turning cold, but art galleries continue to open new shows on the first Friday of each month. The next art walk is Friday, Nov. 3.

Crossroads Carnegie Art Center

2020 Auburn Ave.

Crossroads will open Hartini Gibson’s show “Language of the Land” with an artist talk at 5:30 p.m.

Gibson was born in Philadelphia and earned her bachelor’s of fine arts degree there, then completed her master’s at the University of Iowa. After moving to California, she exhibited her figurative work in numerous shows and galleries before moving back east, where she showed her work in New York.

Now a Boise resident, Gibson “continues her artistic quest producing paintings and digital work comprised of landscapes from her memories and travels across the country.”

She primarily paints large abstract landscapes in oil, acrylic and mixed media.

Royal Artisan

1912 Main St.

Royal Artisan will feature the latest watercolors of Janni Kerns beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, with refreshments. Live music will be provided by D’Club L’Eveque.

Churchill Hall Pass Gallery

3451 Broadway St.

Churchill will feature Richard Springer and Brandi McPherson, who will show a new series of mixed media paintings in the main gallery, along with an open studio exhibition featuring new clothing in McPherson’s boutique and a collection of Springer’s older work. The show opens at 5:30 p.m.

Sweet Wife Baking

2028 Main St.

Sweet Wife Baking and the Two-Drink Minimum Art Gallery will feature work by Jeremy Henderson from John Day. The show opens Nov. 3, 5-8 p.m.

Briarwood Imagiporium

1917 Washington Ave.

Makers and friends of makers are invited to stop by the Imagiporium starting at 4 p.m. to find fresh ideas for upcoming holiday projects and to request classes, kits and more. Also, thoroughly inspired by the beauty of autumn, the “Imp-ress of Artiness” has been playing with all the things drying, dying and fading with the season. Ephemeral Botanical Art is the feature this month.
