Acoustic Minds, featuring twin sisters Amanda and Jenni Price, will play Saturday, Nov. 11, in Baker City.

BAKER CITY — Twin sisters Amanda and Jenni Price tour as The AM (Acoustic Minds) and they will play in Baker City on Saturday, Nov. 11, fresh from a European tour.

Doors open at 6 p.m. at Churchill School, 3451 Broadway St., and the show starts at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance at churchillbaker.com or $18 at the door.

This is also a fundraiser for KBZR, a new community radio station forming in Baker City. The evening features raffles with music-related items and gift certificates from local businesses, as well as T-shirts for sale. Also, the DJs and management of KBZR will be on hand to talk about the station.

About the band

Acoustic Minds formed in 2002, although the sisters have been singing together since they could talk.

“We both write songs, sometimes separately and sometimes together,” they said, writing by email from Switzerland in late October.

The core band has been together since 2010: Aaron Altemose (music producer/singer/songwriter/keys) Josh Lorenzen (producer/bass player) Jenni Price (founder/singer/songwriter/keys) and Amanda Price (founder/singer/songwriter/guitar).

New members include Chris Moede (guitar) Anton Fuller (drums) and Matty Brewster (bass).

Amanda and Jenni were born and raised in Portland. They’ve toured around the world, including their most recent European tour, which included 21 shows in 31 days through Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Primarily, audiences can find Acoustic Minds touring the West Coast, and the summer of 2023 was “jam-packed” with festivals in Oregon and Washington.

When asked about their music, Amanda and Jenni said their sound is “emotionally driven.”

“We center our songs with tight three part vocal harmonies with nostalgic synths and driving bass lines,” they said. “Soul, pop with strong songwriting are the backbone of AM.”

Their songwriting, they say, “speaks of hope for love, hope for our world and hope for humanity.”

“We touch on topics of loss and pain and the joy that welcoming love into your life can bring,” they said. “We hope our music reaches people emotionally and gets your body moving in the process.”

This year, they’ve been releasing singles off their upcoming album, “Slip N Blush.” Their newest song, “Safe and Sound,” will be released in early December.

“This song was originally written about the safe space created in the love bubble created when we love, but more recently we’ve gravitated closer as a ‘love letter’ written to our earth for keeping us all safe and sound,” they said.
