JOSEPH, ENTERPRISE — The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture unveils a “winter fusion of art and culture” with a community dance and art show opening on the first weekend of January.
The center will unveil its first-ever “Livestock Art Show,” an exhibition that celebrates the beauty and vitality of farm and ranch life through the eyes of local farmer and rancher artists.
The show opens Sunday, Jan. 7, 1-3 p.m. at the center, 403 N. Main St., and includes an artist walk-through with curator Crystal Newton, an outdoor barbecue food truck, and a display featuring a vintage collection of die-cast iron toys with a talk by Eri McLaughlin, owner and collector of all vintage things farm and ranch.
The “Livestock Art Show” will be on display through Feb. 12.
Newton, an award-winning local artist, is both the judge and curator for this exhibition. Participating artists have the chance to win a monetary prize: $250 for first, $150 for second, $100 for third, $50 for best young artist (under age 18), and $50 for the People’s Choice.
