ANTHONY LAKES — The Greenneck Daredevils are heading east to hit the slopes at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort and then fill the lodge with tunes on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 3-6 p.m.
The band is based in Hood River.
“We’ve been playing quite a bit — had some great shows here locally and playing a new venue here in town,” said Billy Sheeley, an original member of the band.
That venue is the Underground Music Station, located near the railroad tracks in Hood River and started by two band members of the Greenneck Daredevils.
In addition to shows, the band uses the location for rehearsals and recordings.
“It’s a perfect place to be creative,” Sheeley said.
They most recently played there for Halloween.
“It was jam-packed and sold out,” he said.
They formed 10 years ago, and have had the same members for about the last five years. Their sound is described as a blend of Americana, folk, country and rock.
Their first full-length album, titled “Gypsy Road,” was released in 2022.
“We have a few new songs in the works, and hopefully will record our second full-length album,” Sheeley said.
The Greenneck Daredevils play about 20 shows a year, mostly close to home. On Feb. 9, they will open for the Boise band Tylor and the Train Robbers at the Underground Music Station.
They’ve also been invited to the 4 Peaks Music Festival in Bend that runs June 20-23.
“We’re excited for the chance to play a big festival,” Sheeley said.
