MILTON-FREEWATER — Pioneer People are hosting its second annual Pioneer Prom on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 5-10 p.m. at Milton-Freewater Elks Lodge No. 2146, 611 N. Main St.
The public is invited for a night of dancing and a prime rib dinner catered by Tate’s Mercantile. Drinks will be available for purchase. The cost for the dance and dinner is $50 per ticket and you must be 21 years old to attend.
Cocktail hour is from 5-6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. There will also be a silent auction at 8 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to “join us in dressing up (to your comfort level) and enjoy a prime rib dinner, drinks, silent auction, music, and dancing!”
Pioneer People is a booster club for McLoughlin High School, better known as Mac-Hi. The group consists of parents, school district employees and members of the community. These volunteers support and encourage student excellence in education, club participation and athletics.
Profits from the prom help support Mac-Hi clubs, teams, staff, students and promote Pioneer Pride.
The group, which meets once a month, is very active and sponsors a Spring Sports Kickoff Dinner in March, a Fall Sports Kickoff Dinner in August, a Pioneer People Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk in November, and a Winter Sports Kickoff Dinner in November.
