The play

The cast features Jay Billings, Channin Becker, Lesley Gaunt and Elisabeth Munsell. Peri Wood is the director.

The action centers around Bari (played by Becker), who is described as “an angry, depressed misanthrope.” After losing her job teaching nihilism in New York, she moves to a small town and works at a local fulfillment center with Patty Cooper (Gaunt) and Luanne Cooper (Munsell).

Bari is set up on a date with Patty’s cousin, Mike Cooper, and thinks she is falling in love with this man who builds houses out of found items. But when he witnesses a seizure, along with her erratic behavior, he’s not sure what to think.

The seizures affect her personality by causing bouts of euphoria that start to change her outlook on life — but it’s discovered that this is all due to a form of epilepsy called Geschwind syndrome.

She also has a brain tumor.

When Bari’s condition worsens, she must make a choice on whether or not to remove the tumor which, while it may shorten her life, helps her see the happiness in life.

“Life is remarkable. I’ve wasted so much time,” she says.
