LA GRANDE — Eli Howard and the Greater Good are touring all over the United States, but soon they will return to one of their favorite venues.
The band plays at HQ, 112 Depot St., on March 7.
“I’m a big fan of HQ — it’s probably my favorite place to play,” Howard said from the road in Oklahoma.
The doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance at lagrandehq.com/tickets or $12 at the door.
Earlier this month, the band wrapped up a six-week tour that took them from their home base in Molalla to southern Florida.
“We’re constantly on tour. That’s all we do,” he said.
They log a lot of road miles.
“It’s a pretty hectic driving schedule,” he said.
Howard has shared the stage with the Steel Woods, Whiskey Myers, Shane Smith and the Saints and William Clark Green. Eli Howard and the Greater Good formed in 2021, and the current band has toured since March 2023.
They play 200 shows a year, taking a stage four to five nights a week.
He’s a songwriter, and describes himself as a “folk singer that ended up with an electric guitar.”
“I like a lot of styles of music — ‘90s alternative, folk, ‘60s and ‘70s rock-n-roll, even some modern stuff,” Howard said. “To me, good is good. It doesn’t matter the genre.”
His band includes Nik Elliott, Mason Judson and Nick Lambert. They’ve released three albums, and have another in the works. Find their music on any streaming platform.
Or, even better, see them live.
“Come out and see it for yourself,” he said of their La Grande show. “We’ve got good songs and a good band playing them.”
