EASTERN OREGON — Parks everywhere will be scattered with bright plastic eggs this weekend as children hunt for candy and prizes in community Easter egg hunts.

Here’s a round-up of events around Eastern Oregon. Happy hunting!

BAKER COUNTY

Baker City

The Baker City Rotary Club puts on the annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, at Geiser-Pollman Park.

The Easter Bunny will arrive at 9 a.m. and the hunt starts at 10 a.m. — be there on time because the eggs go fast.

The park will be divided into categories for children from ages 3-11.

Any community members or businesses that would like to help with expenses for the event are welcome to send checks to us at PO Box 1011, Baker City, OR 97814. Also, Dollar Tree is collecting prize donations for this event from customers.

Richland

The annual Eagle Valley Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, March 30, at Holcomb Park and all kids are welcome. There are age categories, so come a little early to find your group. Creating Memories board member Steve Sharp will be there giving the kids instructions.

The fun begins at 1 p.m. There will be hundreds of colorful Easter eggs to find and some have special prizes. The Easter Bunny will also be there for photo opportunities.

There will be prizes in the age categories from infant to three years old, four years old to seven and from eight years old to 11.

“The kids are always ready to go and they do a great job of finding the eggs,” Sharp said. “We really appreciate all of the helping hands that it always takes to put any event together. That appreciation especially extends to the New Bridge Grange Wednesday sewing ladies. ”

The event is sponsored by Creating Memories for Disabled Children-Richland Branch.

Halfway

The Lions Club is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at the park. There will be prizes, hot chocolate, cider and tea.

Huntington

The annual Easter egg hunt is Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. on the lower field at Huntington School.

GRANT COUNTY

Dayville

Get ready to hop it up and win a prize at Dayville’s Bunny Hop 5K Walk and Run on Saturday, March 30. This year’s race, which starts at 9 a.m., begins and ends at the Dayville Community Hall.

Registration is at 8 a.m. and the entry fee is $20 per person. Prizes and raffles will follow. Proceeds benefit the Dayville Community Hall and future Dayville events.

An Easter egg hunt in Dayville City Park will be held at about 10:15 a.m. or after the Bunny Hop. There will be four age groups, from infants through sixth grade.

John Day

The John Day Fire Department will hold two days of Easter fun for kids of all ages. On Friday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., children can dye and decorate eggs at the fire station, 316 S. Canyon Blvd.

The next day, families are invited to Grant Union Junior/Senior High School in John Day for a hamburger lunch at 11 a.m., followed by an Easter egg hunt from noon to 1 p.m.

The John Day Elks Lodge’s annual Easter egg hunt will be on Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Street Complex in John Day.

Mt. Vernon

All are invited to Easter festivities sponsored by the Mt. Vernon Fire Department on Saturday, March 30. The department will offer fire truck rides for kids from 9-10 a.m., followed by the egg hunt at 10 a.m. at Phil Boyd Memorial Park on Council Drive in Mt. Vernon. There will be prizes for various age groups.

Prairie City

Blue Mountain Care Center in Prairie City welcomes the community to an Easter egg hunt on Friday, March 29, starting at 2 p.m. The hunt is open to all age groups and there will be prizes. The care center is at 112 E. 5th St., at the corner of Fifth and Main streets.

MORROW COUNTY

Boardman

  • You’ll need illumination for the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, March 29, 8 p.m. at Boardman Marina Park, 1 W. Marine Drive. This event is for ages 13-18.
  • The hunt starts early on Saturday, March 30, for the community Easter egg hunt at the Boardman Marina Day Use Park, 1 W. Marine Drive. The hunt starts at 10 a.m., but be sure to arrive early. This hunt is for ages 0-12 and is sponsored by the Boardman Park and Recreation District.
  • Get ready to dive for eggs! The Boardman Pool and Recreation Center will have an underwater egg hunt for ages 0-17 on Saturday, March 30, 1-3 p.m. at the rec center, 311 NE Olson Road. Register at teamsideline.com/boardmanor.

Irrigon

  • Members of Irrigon Moose Lodge No. 2486 are busy filling eggs with candy and special surprises. The Easter egg hunt is Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at 220 NE Third St. (541-922-1802).
  • Be sure to hop on over for the Easter EGGstravaganza coordinated by the Family Worship Center. Children can enjoy Easter fun on Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m. at Irrigon Marina Park, 430 Eighth St. NE (541-922-3054).

UMATILLA COUNTY

Adams

The Adams Friends Association is planning an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at Adams City Park. More than 1,500 eggs will be scattered around the park, which will be divided into age groups.

Athena

The annual East Umatilla Fire & Rescue Easter Egg Hunt will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, at Athena City Park.

Ages zero to fifth grade are invited to search for eggs. There will be different areas for age groups.

Hermiston

Hermiston Parks & Recreation invites children 10 and under to search for eggs under the stars. The Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt is Friday, March 29, 8 p.m. at Butte Park, 1245 NW Seventh St.

Milton-Freewater

The Milton-Freewater Kiwanis Club will host its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, starting at 9 a.m. at Yantis Park.

Pendleton

  • Pendleton Eagles Lodge No. 28 is soaring into spring with its annual community Easter egg hunts. Children up to age 6 will gather at Pioneer Park, 400 NW Despain Ave., and those 7-12 at Roy Raley Park, 1205 SW Court Ave. Both events are Saturday, March 30, starting at 9 a.m. For more information, call 541-278-2828.
  • All children through fifth grade are invited to participate in a community Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at Creekside Church, 711 SW 44th St. There will be three separate hunting areas divided by age groups. Prizes will be awarded to those who find special golden eggs.
  • Adults can join the fun at the annual Easter egg hunt in the fog at Electric Sundown, 14 SE Third St., for ages 21 and older on Saturday, March 30. There will be two hunts — 10 p.m. and midnight — with cash prizes and candy.

Pilot Rock

The Pilot Rock Downtown Association’s annual Easter egg hunt is Saturday, March 30, starting at 9 a.m. at the Pilot Rock Elementary School and City Park. Age groups are: babes in arms to walking toddlers; ages 2-4; ages 5-7 and age 8 to sixth grade.

Stanfield

Kids are invited to a free Community Easter Egg Hunt coordinated by Stanfield Moose Lodge No. 920. The event is Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at Coe Park, located on West Coe Avenue by the railroad tracks.

Members of the lodge will dye dozens and dozens of eggs. In addition, they will hide plastic-filled eggs with special prizes. For questions, call 541-449-3304.

Umatilla

Umatilla Parks & Recreation is hosting a Flashlight Egg Hunt. Participants need to bring their own baskets and flashlights for the free event.

It is Friday, March 29, 7 p.m. at Umatilla Marina Park, 1710 Quincy Ave. It is open to ages 2-17 with participants released in different age groups.

Also, the Umatilla Museum will hold an Easter basket raffle — one for a child and one for an adult — during the city’s Flashlight Egg Hunt. Tickets, which are 25 cents each or five for $1, will be sold from 5-6:55 p.m. The drawing will be held just before the start of the egg hunt. For questions, email umatillaoregonmuseum@gmail.com.

Weston

An Easter egg hunt for children up to fourth grade is planned for Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at Weston’s Elliott Park. Children can gather prizes hidden in eggs and be sure to search for the special golden egg.

UNION COUNTY

Elgin

An Easter egg hunt is on Saturday, March 30, at Stella Mayfield Elementary School. This year’s event begins at 10 a.m. and is for ages 1-10.

Imbler

The Imbler FFA Chapter will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. at the Imbler High School football field.

La Grande

  • Grab your flashlights or glow sticks and head to a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunt on Tuesday, March 26 at the La Grande Church of the Nazarene, 109 18th St. The hunt runs from 6-7:30 p.m. There will also be snacks, treats, games and activities.
  • Grande Ronde Retirement, 1809 Gekeler Road, will have an Easter egg hunt on Friday, March 29 at 4 p.m. The hunt will go by ages: 0-4, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Hot dogs and chips will be served, and the Easter Bunny will visit for photos.
  • La Grande Sunrise Rotary is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30 at Riverside Park in La Grande. The Easter Bunny arrives at 9:45 a.m., and the hunt starts at 10 a.m. Children will be divided into age groups: 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. This hunt is presented by P1FCU and the candy sponsor is Bi-Mart.

WALLOWA COUNTY

Enterprise

The Enterprise Elks Lodge will sponsor an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, 10 am. at Jensen Fields behind Safeway. Any Elks members who would like to help color and stuff eggs can meet at the lodge at 6 p.m. Friday, March 29.

Joseph

The Joseph Chamber of Commerce’s community Easter egg hunt will be Saturday, March 30, 9 a.m. at Joseph City Park. This hunt is sponsored by Rahn Sanitary Service.

Wallowa

An Easter egg hunt for ages 0-11 happens at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Lions Club Park. Bonus: Kids can also meet the Easter Bunny.
