BAKER CITY — Bryan Bielanski books more than 100 shows a year, and this April he’s added Barley Brown’s to the list.

His concert is Friday, April 19, 6-9 p.m. at the brewery’s taphouse, 2200 Main St.

Bielanski grew up in North Carolina and started playing music as a teenager.

“I grew up in a family that loved music,” he said. “I decided that’s what I wanted to do with my life.”

He played with a band but went solo in early 2020.

“Things went much better as a solo artist,” he said.

Then gigs stopped as the pandemic caused venues to cancel shows.

His planned 11-month tour didn’t happen.

“It gave me time to reflect and stay busy writing songs and making videos,” he said.

He started playing again in 2021.

“To plan a nationwide tour was still tricky,” he said.

But music soon returned.

“I’ve been on the road ever since,” he said.

In 2022, he played in every state except Alaska and New Hampshire.

In early 2024, he headed to Europe to play in 15 countries.

“I try to learn a little bit of language for every country I go to — hi, hello, thank you, sorry,” he said.

This spring, he’s touring the West Coast.

“I try to put on a great show each and every time,” he said. “I really get into the music when I’m playing.”

He’s released 11 albums with a band, and four as a solo artist. He’s currently working on songs for his next album.

“I just really enjoy what I do,” he said.
