What We’re Into

I’ve been enjoying the sunny weather we’ve had here in Pendleton over the past few weeks, especially because it means it’s time to get back out on my bike and go for a ride.
I’ve been cycling for more than 10 years on and off, and got a gravel bike three years ago that I’ve mostly been using as a road bike. Recently, though, I went out to McKay Reservoir and tested it out in its element!
There’s a gravel road I followed that runs about 3 miles along the reservoir. It’s mostly flat, which made it an easy road to try gravel riding on, except for the occasional car to watch out for.
After it, I must say, loose gravel terrifies me, but other than that, it was fun to try something new. It reminded me how great it is to do something just because I enjoy it and not because I have to be any good at it. Plus, I got to ride with friends, which is always a joy!
