JOSEPH — The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, 403 N. Main St., will open “Common Ground: The Art of Balance and Contrast” on Saturday, April 27, with an opening reception at 7 p.m.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by Terri Hall and Laura Skovlin. Appetizers will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.

The show will be on exhibit through June 10.

“Common Ground: The Art of Balance and Contrast” was inspired by Winter Fishtrap’s theme of “Can We Talk?”

“It is our hope to add the voices of visual artists to the dialogue initiated by Winter Fishtrap,” said Arianna Olsen, program director.

The theme explores how “we live in a time when conflict seems inevitable and achieving balance seems unlikely, from the smallest aspects of life to issues of major significance. How will we make the world a better place if we don’t work to find common ground?”
