- Sarah Vitort and Scott Gilmore of Fox and Bones will play May 4 at Churchill School in Baker City. The show will have a “Star Wars” theme.
BAKER CITY — The duo of Fox and Bones returns to Baker City this week with a twist.
A Star Wars twist.
Sarah Vitort and Scott Gilmore — who have performed as Fox and Bones for eight years — scheduled a concert on Saturday, May 4, which is also known as “May the Fourth Be With You” for fans of “Star Wars.” (For those who aren’t fans of that franchise, this is a twist on the well-known line of “May the force be with you.”)
The Best Star Wars costume will win a prize.
“I personally love a theme,” Vitort said with a laugh.
They’ve been on tour for the last month.
“It’s been busy in a good way,” Vitort said. “It’s good to be busy in our business.”
Their newest album, “Long Time Honey,” releases digitally on May 17, but hard copies will be available at the May 4 show.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance at eventbrite.com or $22 at the door. Admission is free for ages 15 and younger who attend with a paid adult.
Fox and Bones have played at Churchill several times since their first show in 2022.
“A venue as amazing as Churchill School — we’ll come back whenever they will have us,” Gilmore said.
They also played at Halfway’s Pine Fest music festival in September 2023.
This summer they’ll play at festivals and the Sawtooth Valley Gathering in June.
Since forming a band, they’ve played more than 550 shows and toured both the United States and Europe.
“We pretty much live on the road whenever we can,” Vitort said.
For this show, Fox and Bones will be backed by The Quick and Easy Boys, another Portland band.
“We play with them as often as we can,” Vitort said.
