Pecos & the Rooftops

Frontman Pecos Hurley describes the band’s sound as a combination of red dirt country, rock ‘n’ roll and blues. Formed in 2019 in Lubbock, Texas, the group’s original members, who met in college, often hung out and jammed on the roof of their house. Pecos & the Rooftops’ self-titled debut album was released June 23, 2023.

In August 2023, Pecos & the Rooftops was the Saturday night headliner during Wheatstock Music Festival in Helix. DeWayne Dunlap, Wheatstock founder and president, said the group’s breakout hit, “This Damn Song,” lifted them through the rooftops. He said they perform a gritty mixture of country, folk and Southern rock.

“They are on an upward trajectory and on the top of the Texas music scene,” Dunlap said.

Kameron Marlowe

A North Carolina native, Marlowe said his love for country music developed while listening to the radio with his grandpa, singing in church and joining a band in high school.

While working as a car parts salesman, his social media performance videos caught the attention of “The Voice.” Although Marlowe’s appearance was cut short, he said it jumpstarted his music career.

“I was really fired up,” he said on “The Bobby Bones Show.” “That was like my first taste of being able to do music every day and I was like this is what I really want to do.”

Heading to Nashville, the singer-songwriter released “Giving You Up,” a top-selling hit, in 2019, followed by numerous singles and his debut album, “We Were Cowboys,” in 2022. Marlowe’s second album, “Keepin’ the Lights On,” drops May 31.

Theory of a Deadman

After jamming as a basement band in high school, the British Columbia group got its start when lead singer Tyler Connolly got the attention of Nickelback frontman-turned-record-producer Chad Kroeger. In 2001, Theory of a Deadman signed with 604 Records, leading to their self-titled debut album in September 2002.

In addition to the group’s 2008 double-platinum breakthrough album, “Scars & Souvenirs, the band has charted numerous hits in both Canada and the U.S., including “All Or Nothing,” “Lowlife,” “Bad Girlfriend” and “Rx (Medicate).” The latter earned the No. 1 song award in 2017 from the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada. It also was a finalist for rock song of the year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
