LA GRANDE — Eastern Oregon is on the cusp of summer and there is no better way to usher in the season than lifting a glass at the Eastern Oregon Beer Festival on June 15 at the Union County Fairgrounds.

The event, for ages 21 and older, is the premier fundraiser for La Grande Main Street Downtown.

It runs from 2-9 p.m., with a special VIP ticket offered allowing early admission at 1 p.m.

This is the Eastern Oregon Beer Festival’s 10th anniversary, and a jam-packed celebration is planned.

There will be three musical offerings, three food venders, 22 different brews and numerous local craft vendors plying their wares.

The focus is on the beer — and the 39 taps include a wide range of breweries in Oregon and beyond.

Regional favorites Terminal Gravity, Side A and Prodigal Son will be there, along with Tigertown Brewery. Sockeye Brewing out of Boise is celebrating the event’s 10 years with 11 cases of Midnight Curvee bottles for VIP guests and a beer designed especially for the festival, Burnt River Cold IPA.

The food vendors include Hines Meat Company, Final Cut Pizza and FitFuel LG. More than 10 craft vendors will bring jewelry, hats, printed clothing, beer-related gifts, candles, soap, assorted dips and stained glass. Also featured will be local YA author Doug McKim with a selection of his books.

Throughout the day, live music will fill the air. Gregory Rawlins will kick off the celebration from 3-4:30 p.m.

He draws his musical inspiration from a mash-up of classic rock, country music and the Seattle grunge wave of the early 1990s.

Next up, from 5-6:30 p.m., Wicked Mary will offer an energetic crowd-pleasing mix of classic and modern rock-and-roll, spanning from the 1970s to today. And from 7-8:30 p.m.,

Staci & Company will finish off the evening. Their style encompasses elements of folk, country and American fusion.

Throughout the day, Ashley O’Toole, one of the founders of Beer Fest, will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Safe rides will be provided by Loveland Safe Rides Program.

Also, all attendees are invited to the Sockeye Brewery After Party to be held at Benchwarmers Pub & Grill from 9 p.m. until closing.

Tickets for the Eastern Oregon Beer Festival are $35 for general admission and $50 for VIP admission.

VIP tickets, along with early admission, include extra tokens and surprise gifts when leaving.

Tickets are available at lagrandemainstreet.org/eobf or eobeerfest.org, Tap That!, Side A Brewery, Benchwarmer’s Pub and Grill, the La Grande Main Street Downtown office at 102 Depot St. and at the gate at the Union County Fairgrounds.
