Grant County Farmers Market

The 2024 Grant County Farmers Market will open on Saturday, June 22, at a new location – The Pit Stop in John Day. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market continues every Saturday until October, concluding with a Harvest Festival.

In addition to produce, food, baked goods, plants, handcrafted items, jewelry and more throughout the season, there may be additional activities such as kids’ crafts, cooking demonstrations, informational displays and entertainment.

“We’re just super excited to be in a more central location this year and hope that more people will come and check it out,” said Jill Hilliard-Reeves, secretary/treasurer for the group.

Reeves added they’re still seeking more vendors for the 2024 season. Booth rental is $15 per Saturday or $200 for the season.

The Pit Stop, at 330 W. Main St., is a relatively new venue option in John Day. The well-developed open area is just a couple of blocks west of the stoplight, and has restrooms and parking. Its downtown John Day location offers easy accessibility for such events as the farmers market.
