In 2003, my parents decided to name me after Torrey Pines Golf Course, also the location of their engagement. This gave me no choice but to eventually choose golf as my permanent sport, and I soon learned to play just as I was learning to walk. Luckily, I have the opportunity to continue it into my college career, playing on my school’s golf team.

My dad originally taught me how to play, but I have taken lessons and advice from just about anyone who offers. It is my favorite pastime and gives me a sense of calm when I am by myself on the course.

Rain or shine I am out on the course, however, the sunny weather we are enjoying in Pendleton right now is my personal favorite to golf in. Last week, in my process of moving in, I was able to play Wildhorse Golf Course, just down the road from my new home here.

I loved the experience, and hope to continue exploring more golf courses around the area as my time here continues.
