PRAIRIE CITY — Already feeling the summer heat?
Grab the kids, cousins and grandparents, too, with cool fun for everyone at Family Fun Day, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at the school track and football field in Prairie City.
This is the 17th year for the popular, family-friendly event, which is hosted by Families First Parent Resource Center of Grant County.
Activities this year include two water slides, bounce houses, a “daredevil island” jump-off, an obstacle course and much more.
There will again be a bicycle helmet exchange and interactive booths with various, games and activities for kids of all ages.
The cost for all this fabulous fun? Absolutely nothing! Sign up for a free wristband at the Families First booth and you’re set for hours of entertainment.
What more could anyone ask for? Food, of course. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available all day for a dollar and cool off afterward with a free snow cone.
A cooling tent will also be available for shade and water.
“I am always excited to see people in the community come together to have fun,” said Katrina Randleas, program supervisor for Families First.
If families need transportation to the event, the People Move will leave its facility at 229 NE Dayton St. in John Day at 10:30 a.m. To reserve a seat, call 541-575-1006.
