- Several vendors operate June 10, 2023, at Heritage Station Museum’s Spring Artisan Market in Pendleton. The 2024 event is Saturday, June 29.
PENDLETON — From home decor to flower crowns, the Heritage Station Museum Artisan Market will have a wide range of handmade and artisan items for sale on Saturday, June 29, at the museum, 108 SW Frazer Ave.
“It is way bigger than last year. It’s exciting,” said Shannon Gruenhagen, director of programming and education.
Gruenhagen said Heritage Station revived the spring artisan market a couple years ago and it has kept growing each year.
“We have a little bit of everything,” she said. “There are a lot of handmade items — jewelry, home decor, embroidered goods, botanicals, freeze-dried candy. We have baked goods, inspirational products. One vendor does flower crowns and wands, another is coming up with her hand-painted purses and scarves.”
Gruenhagen said there are 17 vendors signed up for the market. The vendors at the Spring Artisan Market will set up in front of the museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the market is free.
The Spring Artisan Market is a companion to the winter artisan market, held during the Heritage Lights event at Christmas. Gruenhagen said both markets allow community artisans a low-cost way to sell their products. The vendor fees only cover museum expenses.
“I love giving local artists and crafters a place to do this — a place to sell their goods, be seen and be known. The museum is a community space, and this is an extension of that,” she said. “It’s really about bringing the community to the museum.”
Vendors interested in participating in the artisan markets can contact the museum for more information.
Heritage Station Museum will also be open during its regular hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., that day with regular admission prices — $10 adults, $8 seniors/veterans/active duty, $5 ages K-12 or $20 for a family.
