- This year, the Main Street Show and Shine will cruise to Flora on Aug. 16.
ENTERPRISE — The 10th annual Main Street Show and Shine cruises into town Aug. 16 for two days of classic car fun.
Those who want to participate can register in advance or at the show. Entry is $20.
Every year brings 125 to 140 entries, said Doug Crow, one of the show organizers.
The weekend starts at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at Main Street Motors to register and pick up goodie bags.
New this year is the Cruise to Flora in memory of Don Ward, a local car enthusiast. Participants can meet at the Cloverleaf Hall parking lot on Highway 3 at noon on Friday, Aug. 16. Those who cruise will be entered into a raffle drawing for cash prizes.
For the rest of the day, car owners are encouraged to explore Wallowa Valley, said Candy Bunn, who helps organize the show.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, Main Street in Enterprise will be filled with cars and trucks for spectators to see. Parking starts at 7 a.m.
The Enterprise Elks Lodge has a fundraising breakfast at Main Street Motors from 7-10 a.m., and the day features vendors, music over the street PA system and an emcee who announces events.
Bunn said every year features a 50/50 raffle, and this year’s proceeds will benefit the Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets are $1 each or 10 for $5.
Car show awards will be announced at 2:30 p.m. After the ceremony, everyone is encouraged to cruise by the Enterprise and Joseph assisted living homes.
