JOSEPH — The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, 403 N. Main St., invites the public to a fun and fruity fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 27.

“The Fruity Art Frenzy: Create for a Cause” is a two-for-one fundraising event featuring a musical concert by the regional band, “Sweet N’ Juicy” to benefit the center’s capital campaign as well as their youth art program.

The music

Sweet N’ Juicy, a tasty and energetic funk/rock/soul band with a knack for fun, will entertain the audience with their original tunes and energetic performance.

The trio features Sweet the Banana, Juicy the Strawberry and N’ the Pineapple — and yes, they dress in costumes for the performance.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 in advance at josephy.org, or $20 at the door.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the center’s building expansion project, which is currently at 93% of the goal.

Create for a Cause!

Before the concert begins, there will be a “Little Works” creative, fruit-themed fundraising “appetizer” event.

Starting at 6 p.m., ticketed concertgoers are invited to visit the center’s art classroom to create a small, fruit-inspired piece of artwork to be sold in the upcoming “Little Works Art Exhibit,” a youth art program fundraiser.

For details, visit josephy.org/event/little-works-2024.

Fruit-related inspiration and all supplies will be provided to create a 10-inch-square piece to be donated to the Little Works exhibit.

Artists can choose to donate 50% or 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their works to the youth art program.
