COVE — Shelter from the Storm is hosting its second annual Summer Gala— “An Evening Under the Stars” — on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Ascension School Camp & Conference Center in Cove.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner starting at 6 p.m., and the evening coming to a close at 9 p.m. There will be live local music and dancing, as well as a dinner with the choice of prime rib or salmon. A full-service bar will be provided and a silent auction with local favorites will be held.

Shelter from the Storm is collaborating with local Union County businesses and artists to create a unique and memorable gala to support those in the greater community facing domestic violence, stalking or sexual assault.

Funds raised from the event will go directly toward supporting the organization’s programs and services, helping to ensure that Shelter from the Storm can continue to provide vital support to survivors in Union County.

Tickets are $60 and can be purchased by going to unioncountysfs.org/gala. Donations are also welcome for those who cannot attend but still wish to contribute.

Shelter from the Storm, located in La Grande at 10901 Island Ave., was founded in 1979 to provide support and safety for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Over the years, it has grown into a comprehensive service provider, dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering a community free from violence.
