What We’re Into: Join the Corridor Crew

Being a movie buff, of course I appreciate good special effects. That’s how some years ago I found a YouTube video series called “VFX Artists React,” with visual effects artists giving their takes on good and bad visual effects.

The examinations extend beyond movies and TV with episodes taking on UFO and Bigfoot videos as well.

The work is the product of The Corridor Crew, the group of VFX artists and experts running Corridor Digital, a website and an American YouTube channel based in Los Angeles. This crew has been making short videos since 2010 and even makes television commercials. They also make videos on good and bad Hollywood stunt work, show what’s behind the downturn in special effects quality in some recent film series (cough — Marvel — cough) and lampoon certain actors or movie trends.

In recent weeks the crew devoted time to exposing artificial intelligence scams. That episode clocks in at about 25 minutes and gives a primer on how to spot fake videos, from fake products to a fake Elon Musk (hint — watch the Adam’s apple when someone talks).

These are fun, lively and insightful videos. Check out the Corridor Crew and its work at www.corridordigital.com as well as at www.youtube.com/@CorridorCrew.
