Blind Boys of Alabama
Looking ahead, the Blind Boys of Alabama will take the OK stage on Dec. 14.
The original Blind Boys of Alabama’s first public performance was on WSGN radio station in Birmingham, Alabama, on June 10, 1944, according to the group’s website. Over the past 80 years and changes in personnel, they have shared their music and spirit from “Carnegie Hall and the White House to the Grammys and the Gospel Hall of Fame as they broke down racial barriers, soundtracked the Civil Rights movement, and helped redefine modern gospel music in the process.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. on Dec. 14, and the music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 if purchased before Nov. 30, or $50 after that date. Purchase tickets online at theoldok.com.
