The Pioneer People Mac-Hi Booster Club presents the Pioneer Prom on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Milton-Freewater Elks Lodge.

MILTON-FREEWATER — The third annual Pioneer Prom will be Saturday, Feb. 1, from 5-11 p.m. at the Milton-Freewater Elks Lodge, 611 N. Main St.

“If you haven’t dressed up for a night out for a hot minute, has Pioneer People got the ticket for you!” said Pioneer People President Tara Perkins.

Hosted by the Pioneer People Mac-Hi Booster Club, the event is for ages 21 and older. The public is invited for a night of dancing and a prime rib dinner catered by Tate’s Mercantile. Drinks will be available for purchase. The cost for the dance and dinner is $50 per ticket.

Purchase tickets through Venmo (@pioneerpeople) or pay by cash or check to a Pioneer People member before the event.

Cocktail hour is from 5-6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Dress up to your comfort level. At 9 p.m. there will be a silent auction.

Pioneer People is a booster club for McLoughlin High School, better known as Mac-Hi. The group consists of parents, school district employees and community members. These volunteers support and encourage student excellence in education, club participation and athletics.

The Pioneer Prom is the club’s biggest college scholarship fundraiser.

In the past year, the group has purchased a monitor for the school’s gym foyer so concession workers and others can watch basketball and wrestling events, plus they run sponsor banners on it. And they helped with the Mac-Hi Hall of Fame Toast to Talent Award event, as well as the annual sports dinner barbecue.

Perkins said Pioneer People is open to all Mac-Hi parents and community members who want to join the fun. To learn more about the booster club and activities, search www.facebook.com/MHSPioneerPeople.
