Talk about a menu! Raul’s Taqueria, 1302 Adams Ave., has earned the Go! Readers’ Choice award for Best World Cuisine.

The restaurant is co-owned by Arturo Escamilla and his father-in-law, Raul Correa.

“We are very happy about the award,” Escamilla said. “That’s amazing, and it means we are doing something right. We are very thankful for all the people who voted for us.”

Raul’s Taqueria serves Mexican food that keeps people coming back, and because of their growing popularity, Escamilla and Correa saw the need to expand their physical space twice in the last five years.

The co-owners founded Raul’s Taqueria in August 2011, and after 10 years they expanded into the adjacent space at 1304 Adams Ave. to create Raul’s Cantina with a bar and additional seating for 40 people.

In December 2024, another adjacent storefront became available, 1306 Adams Ave., and they are now leasing and remodeling it to create a new dining area.

“We think it will be finished in late spring or early summer,” Escamilla said. “The tile is done and we have made a lot of progress, and it’s getting pretty close to being finished.”

The new dining area allows for an additional 60 people to dine, and it can be rented for a party. When it is finished, it will have two new bathrooms, lighting, flooring, tables, chairs, booths and a small stage for live music. It also offers about six additional TV monitors for patrons to watch sports.

The full menu is available on their Facebook page. They offer deliveries via DoorDash and cater for all kinds of events, including weddings, company and holiday parties, and even picnic gatherings. To place an order for takeout or delivery, call Raul’s at 541-624-5230.

Raul’s Taqueria is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Everyone is welcome to come to Raul’s Taqueria,” Escamilla said. “If you have not tried us before, then give us a shot. Come and enjoy a great drink or great meal, say hi and watch sports here.”
