BAKER CITY — A new month means new art shows! The First Friday art walk is April 4. Here’s a look at what you can find as you stroll.

Royal Artisan

1912 Main St.

Royal Artisan will be showing quilts and stained glass by Diana Pearson, and D’Club L’Eveque will provide live music at 5:30 p.m.

Churchill Hall Pass Gallery

3451 Broadway St.

Churchill will feature art that students created for the Baker County Health Department. The gallery opens at 5:30 p.m.

Crossroads Carnegie Art Center

2020 Auburn Ave.

Crossroads will open “Objet d’Art” from 5-8 p.m.

This open theme show, according to a press release, “has galvanized the local art community. We have given out 96 random objects to artists here in Baker and all the way to Boise who have created artwork inspired in some way by their object.”

All mediums were encouraged, and artists could choose how to incorporate their object, replicate it, or simply use it as inspiration.

“There is complete freedom of expression,” said Angela Blair, community art director. “We are looking forward to a great variety of artwork this April and hope the community comes out to see all the creativity produced by our beloved local artists.”

Cash prizes for first, second and third place in the People’s Choice awards.

Music will be provided by Elwood. Also, those attending can enter a drawing to win two tickets to an event at Churchill School.

Crossroads is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the First Friday show opening continuing until 8 p.m. each month.
