BAKER CITY — After time off at home in Nova Scotia, Matt Andersen is hitting the road again and his tour includes a stop in Baker City.

This will be his third show at Churchill School

“You guys keep asking,” he said with a laugh. “I’m really looking forward to coming back.”

The concert is Saturday, April 5. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance at churchillbaker.com or $30 at the door.

Julian Taylor, a Toronto-based singer-songwriter, will open the show.

Andersen’s tour supports his newest album, “The Hamer & The Rose,” which releases April 25 via Sonic Records.

He said he’ll have copies available at the Churchill show.

Andersen has toured his music for more than 20 years.

“Different towns every night, different time zones,” he said.

After Christmas 2024, he took a break and stayed home.

“Getting used to being at home, which is nice,” he said.

But he’s ready to share the new album with audiences.

“I get really anxious to be on the road,” he said. “Some people don’t like to let the grass grow around them.”

He’ll have 35 shows for this tour. Some venues he’s played before, and some are new.

“Sometimes you go back to the same city, but a different venue,” he said.

His music has garnered 33 million streams on Spotify and 30 million views on YouTube. In addition to headlining major festivals, clubs and theaters throughout North America, Europe, and Australia, he has shared the stage and toured with Marcus King, Beth Hart, Marty Stuart, Greg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Randy Bachman, Serena Ryder, Tab Benoit and more.
