ENTERPRISE — Bart Budwig is turning 40, and he’s celebrating with music.

Lots of music.

On Friday, April 18, Budwig, Desolation Horse and other guest musicians will perform at the OK Theater, 208 W. Main St., to celebrate the milestone birthday.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 at theoldok.com. Those younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.

We’ll each play 45-minute sets,” Budwig said. “I will have a bunch of musician friends in town so my band will be large, chaotic and fun.”

Desolation Horse has long-standing connections to the OK Theater and are bringing their indie rock sound to the party. Darrell Brann, owner of the OK, promises a variety of regional musicians will be part of the opening act.

Cooper Trail heads up Desolation Horse, and in 2020 he was touring in Europe with Budwig, who he’s known for more than 20 years.

“He’s one of my oldest buddies, especially in terms of music,” Trail said.

He’d entered the music scene as a drummer for various bands after graduating from high school in Moscow, Idaho. Desolation Horse is his second band — he recorded an album with his first, called Mise.

He describes his band’s music style as indie rock, but also “distorted” with the use of all electric instruments.

Looking ahead

The Reeves Brothers will be bringing their authentic “smooth as top-shelf bourbon” voices (Las Vegas Review) to the OK Theater on May 29 at 7 p.m. The real-life brothers, inspired by their father who performed regularly in their hometown of Pahrump, Nevada, grew up playing honky tonk and classic country music.

Since bringing their solo careers together in 2016, they have opened for Justin Moore and Craig Morgan. Tickets are $25. For more information, visit www.thereevesbros.com.

Tickets for all shows are currently available on the theater’s website, www.theoldok.com. For more information, call 541-263-0941.
