‘Friday Nights on Main’ starts May 24

Friday Nights on Main will be held in Milton-Freewater’s Freewater Square on the fourth Friday of each month, May through September.

MILTON-FREEWATER — Come to North Main in Milton-Freewater on Friday, May 24 for a lot of family fun. The annual summer season of Friday Nights on Main starts at 6 p.m. with an All American Celebration featuring a vintage tractor show, an apple pie baking contest, live music, cornhole, 3-on-3 basketball and a kids carnival.

The Milton Freewater Chamber Downtown Alliance and businesses provide family fun activities that draw people downtown for shopping, dining, wine, music, art and more. Kill-A-Brew will provide the music for the May event. The event is held on the fourth Friday of each month from May to September at Freewater Square, 417 N. Main St. The activities are free.

“We are bringing life, happiness, and excitement to Main Street and we would love for you to be a part of it all,” said MFCDA Executive Director Maryelizabeth Garcia. “See our world where every soul finds a home and, together, we create a tapestry of belonging that knows no bounds.”

Schedule

The Friday Nights schedule, along with a couple of other events planned in Milton-Freewater:

  • May 24: All American Celebration
  • June 7: Progressive dinner
  • June 28: Summer Splash
  • July 5: Battle of the Bands
  • July 26: Freewater Fiesta
  • Aug. 23: Back to Class Bash
  • Sept. 13: Art in the Alley (held on South Main Street)

The events are from 6-9 p.m. except September which will be from 4-7 p.m.

“With an exciting lineup of live music, food trucks and vendors, wineries/cideries/breweries, themed activities, local artisans and vendors, North Main will be alive with family-friendly fun,” Garcia said. “Our goal is to help make Milton-Freewater a great place to live and play and encourage support of our local businesses.”

Battle of the Bands

The MFCDA will be holding its first ever “Battle of the Bands” and are seeking local talent to perform at the show on July 5.

The winner will receive $500 and a performance contract for the Aug. 23 Friday Night event.
