Ice cream social set at Hurricane Creek Grange
JOSEPH — The Hurricane Creek Grange, 82930 Airport Lane, will have an open house and ice cream social on Sunday, April 27, from noon to 2 p.m.
The cold treats are free for everyone. Attendees are welcome to ask questions and learn more about the grange.
Head to Imnaha for annual music festival
IMNAHA — The annual Into the Hills music festival is set for Saturday, April 26, in Imnaha. Free camping is available, and entry is by donation. The music runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the Imnaha Tavern and Imnaha Canyon Lodging and RV.
Queensryche to rock Wildhorse
PENDLETON — The progressive metal sounds of Queensryche will blast into Eastern Oregon with a show at Wildhorse Resort & Casino.
The three-time Grammy-nominated band will perform May 25 at 7 p.m. in the Rivers Event Center. The concert is open to ages 21 and older. A cash bar will be available.
Organizers expect the show to sell out. Tickets went on sale April 2. Premium reserved seats are $69 and standing room only is $49.

College rodeo finals ride into Hermiston
HERMISTON — Catch the top college athletes from across the region during the 2025 Northwest Intercollegiate Rodeo Finals.
The Blue Mountain Community College Rodeo Boosters are hosting the event April 25-26 in the Farm-City Pro Rodeo Arena at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center, 1705 E. Airport Road. Slack starts at 2 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday, with rodeo performances at 6 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
Tickets are sold separately for each day. General admission adult tickets are $12, and kids 12 and under are $6. Tickets are available on Simpletix via bit.ly/4iVHzsy. BMCC students are admitted free.
Hang around Friday night after the rodeo action for live music featuring Cory Peterson and Dog Bite Harris in Chute 8.
Rummage sale supports local ministries
LA GRANDE — First Christian Church, 901 Penn Ave., will have a rummage sale on Friday, April 25, from 4-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will support local ministries and services. Sales of baked goods and plants will be held at the same time to support Cove Christian camp.
On Saturday, remaining rummage sale items will be free from noon to 1 p.m.
Musician jazzes up Power House Theatre
WALLA WALLA — Internationally acclaimed jazz singer Anthony Nunziata will perform Saturday, April 26, 2 p.m. at the Power House Theatre, 111 N. Sixth Ave.
Dubbed “America’s new romantic singing sensation,” the Brooklyn-born, Nashville-based singer, songwriter, actor and entertainer brings his soulful voice to classic jazz, pop standards, Italian arias and his timeless original music.
Nunziata’s debut performance at the legendary Café Carlyle in New York City sold out. He has been invited to headline as a soloist for more than two dozen symphony orchestras across the globe.

Monthly dance is April 26 in La Grande
LA GRANDE — The BlueMountaineers will have their monthly dance on Saturday, April 26, 6-9 p.m. at the Union County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany St.
Admission is $5 or free for ages 12 and younger. The evening includes a finger food potluck.
Cove High presents spring musical
COVE — The Cove High School theater department will present “The Trail to Oregon” April 25-27 in the small gym across from the high school, 803 Main St.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 25 and 26, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27.
This Team StarKid original has been modified to be school-friendly, but still incorporates audience participation and zaniness, and some material may not be suitable for younger audience members, said Dr. Teresa Farrell, who teaches English and drama at Cove High.
The cast features five CHS students, three alumni and two faculty members. Tickets are $7 adults or $5 for students and seniors. Seating is limited. Reserve your seat at https://tinyurl.com/55ceuby4 and pay at the door.

Second weekend run of ‘The Bookstore’
BAKER CITY — Eastern Oregon Regional Theatre continues performances of “The Bookstore” Friday through Sunday, April 25-27, at the theater, 2101 Main St.
Showtimes are 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. Sundays, at 2101 Main St.

Celebrate Arbor Day with river cleanup, seedlings
PENDLETON — Stewards of the Umatilla River Environment (SURE) again celebrates Arbor Day on Saturday, April 26, by hosting the annual river cleanup in conjunction with a tree giveaway organized by Pendleton Parks and Recreation and the U.S. Forest Service.
The river cleanup begins at 9 a.m. at Roy Raley Park. Supplies are provided, and families are welcome. Those younger than 18 must be supervised by an adult.
Free tree seedlings will be available from 9:30 a.m. to noon, also at Roy Raley Park. Species include mock orange, chokecherry, Douglas-fir, river birch, gingko, American sweetgum and northern red oak.
The Arbor Day celebration is also supported by Lions International and the Rotary Club.
Hermiston Christian School sets dinner, auction
HERMISTON — The Hermiston Christian School’s 12th annual dinner auction fundraiser is Saturday, April 26, in the Hardin Event Center at the school, 1825 W. Highland Ave.
The doors open at 5 p.m. with silent auction bidding, followed by a tri-tip beef dinner prepared by Cookin’ Spoo Style. At 7 p.m., the live auction begins. The evening also features fun fundraising games, including a chance to win tasty treats during the dessert dash. Tickets are $40 each or $280 for a table of eight.
Hermiston Christian School was established in 1979. Proceeds from the benefit event will go toward equipment, classroom and gymnasium improvements, school supplies and other school-related programs.

Tidy up La Grande and celebrate pollinators
LA GRANDE — Get ready to spruce up La Grande on Downtown Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 26.
Volunteers will meet at 102 Depot St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to lend a hand in refreshing the city — bring gloves and a trash bag if you can. This fun day also includes a special guest, The Compost Chick and her weed-eating goat, Miep, who will be mingling with everyone as they clean up the town.
After tidying up the downtown, there will be a special event celebrating pollinators and native plants featuring local ecologists Laura Navarrete and Patrick Gower giving presentations on pollinator ecology from 1-2 p.m. at The Press Room, 1124 Washington Ave., and the Reynolds Pollinator Park across Washington Avenue from The Press Room. They will be discussing the benefits of native species in urban, rural and agricultural settings, followed by an educational tour and planting party hosted by Katie Boula at Reynold Pollinator Park from 2-4 p.m. with pollinator crafts and activities for kids, including chalk drawings on the adjacent sidewalks and building bee hotels with cans and bamboo shoots.

Evening of ‘elegance and intrigue’ in La Grande

Hispanic Film Festival continues through May 7
LA GRANDE — The Spanish Department at Eastern Oregon University is hosting its first-ever Hispanic Film Festival, showcasing five powerful films that explore identity, immigration, and cultural expression.
Screenings take place each Wednesday through May 7 from 7-10 p.m. in the Schwarz Theatre in Loso Hall (6th Street and “K” Avenue). Three of the five films are also available to stream online for one week following their in-person showings. All the films have English-language subtitles.
From animated documentaries to biographical dramas, these films bring important and meaningful voices to the screen. Some of the films deal with mature topics that may not be suitable for younger viewers.
