ENTERPRISE — Fishtrap is hosting an evening of short plays written by Joseph Charter School’s ninth graders and performed by their instructors and local Wallowa County actors on Wednesday, May 7, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Fishtrap, 107 W. Main St.
Admission is free.
Supported by Fishtrap writer-in-residence Eric Braman and Joseph School teacher Cameron Scott, students have brought to life everything from toothbrushes to army tanks in stories of friendship, courage, love and humility.
“The students have created a series of original plays that are nothing short of magical,” Braman said. “We want to celebrate these incredible youth writers.”
In addition to Braman and Scott, MidValley Theatre Company actors stepped up to take roles in the showcase so the young playwrights could see their work performed in front of a live audience.

There, they’ll explore creative writing and storytelling in a weeklong workshop designed to help them express what’s inside, learn to listen to the stories of others and connect with a community of storytellers.
Registration, which opens mid-May, is $100 and includes lunches and snacks. For more information, visit fishtrap.org/sfyw2025/.
