Jeshua Marshall returns to Churchill

BAKER CITY — Jeshua Marshall and the Flood return to play at Churchill School on Friday, March 21. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance at churchillbaker.com or $20 at the door.

Marshall is no stranger to Baker City — he was born here, and lived here off and on throughout his childhood. He’s played at Churchill several times since 2022. Marshall has played guitar since his youth, sang in his church choir and played trumpet for a band in Redmond.

He switched to the electric bass when he was 12, and by 16 he was in a band — Larry and his Flask — with his older brother, Jamin. They toured from 2004 to 2019, and then Marshall went solo in early 2020.

Ski — or walk — your way to culinary treats

ANTHONY LAKES — The 11th annual Taste of Nordic is coming to Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort on Sunday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can snowshoe or just pull on some boots and walk the trails to tour the 13 vendors that will be set up along the cross-country trails.

Food and beverages will be priced by tokens ($4 each), which can be purchased starting Thursday, March 13, at the Anthony Lakes lodge. Judy encourages people to buy tokens in advance to avoid the long line on the day of the event.

Those ages 21 and older must have a wristband — IDs will be checked when tokens are purchased. If you need more tokens as you taste and sip along the trail, a token table will be set up in zone two along the trail.

All participants must have a valid trail pass, either single day or season. A Nordic trail pass is $20, or $10 for ages 7-11.

Rentals for cross-country skis or snowshoes are $25. These can be rented either the day before, March 22, or on the day of the event.

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Street Fair, set for Saturday, May 17, is looking for vendors and volunteers.

In the early 1900s, Main Street merchants hosted the Pendleton Street Fair. This day consisted of booths in front of each business, performing artists and other local organizations.

Eventually, this street fair became the Umatilla County Fair and was relocated to a larger area.

The Pendleton Downtown Association, the city of Pendleton’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Umatilla County Historical Society are bringing back this historic street fair to help promote Pendleton’s downtown historic district.

Interested in volunteering or participating? To connect with the planning committee, send an email to HPC@pendletonor.gov.

Registration for businesses, booth space, entertainment, volunteers and sponsors is now open at www.pendletondowntown.org/street-fair. Additional event information will be posted by the Pendleton Downtown Association and Heritage Station Museum.
